The Meaning of a Shirt

Such a simple article of clothing brought about an extensive amount of meaning to this father. This shirt was not just ordinary shirt made in a factory, but instead had an entire history behind it. As generations begin to develop, people are slowly forgetting about the history of obtaining a shirt the "right" way. This experience relates to a memoir because the process of having a Ramone's shirt meant something to him. He loved the good old days where people would earn the shirts by actually attending the concerts and experiencing the intensity. To some people, this may seem like a man that is just crazy because he is obsessing over how to get a Ramone's shirt, but he attempts to show his beliefs and implement them onto us. It is not really the fact of getting a shirt, but the deeper meaning is the traditional values. When he wanted a shirt in his days, people would have to earn those shirts as true fans. He is surprised how the traditional values are being lost because his son just simply came up to him and asked for a shirt. His son did not have any intentions of going to a concert, but probably just wanted the shirt as a fashion fad. The author of this narrative expresses how a Ramone's shirt is so important to him when he explained that he never got one. He attended many of their concerts, yet still did not feel that he could just simply buy one. This story is relevant to the time because it is showing how generations evolve and lose past values. As we move into the future, many of our old traditions and values are being lost. An example of this is how 90 percent of America uses computers instead of hand writing. I remember when all my assignments were written by hand, and sometimes even in cursive. For this reason, he target this story towards people that may have experienced the world at the same time that he did.
When I write my essay, I would like to target something so simple like this that had made a drastic change. By doing so, it will draw in the reader because typically such simplistic events are not supposed to cause life changing moments or views on the world. In addition, I also want to include plenty of descriptive details to make my readers feel like they were actually there. I will probably not use too much dialogue because I want to express the story the way I experienced it. I plan to write about graduation, and everyone this day had different feelings and emotions. This narrative was such a simple story, but had a great impact through the in-depth meanings behind all the words on the page.
